In
the late
1960's I
lived in the offices quarters on Lowry AFB
where my father was
stationed. It was a very tumultuous time in my
life. I remember going
to bed one night and was not able to fall
asleep. My mother, or what I
believed to be my mother, came into my
room. She was wearing a
long white gown. She rubbed my forehead and
reassured me that
everything was going to be fine and stayed
with me until I fell asleep.
Years later, I thanked my mother for her
reassurance that night. She
looked confused so I explained about the night
I had the wonder
visitor. She told me it had never happened.
She had never come into my
room that night and did not even own a long
white gown.
I have since heard that Lowry A.F.B was built
on a cemetery, not sure
if that is true. If it is, I sure appreciate
the lovely woman that
visited me that night.
